Enrichment of cell-targeting and population-specific aptamers by fluorescence-activated cell sorting.

Here, the authors present a new FACS (fluorescence-activated cell sorting)-SELEX approach for the evolution of cell-specific aptamers. Aptamers are short nucleic acids that bind their target with high affinity and specificity that can be obtained by in vitro evolution like SELEX (systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment).
