Wolf Reik received his MD from the Universities of Freiburg and Hamburg in Germany. He did his thesis work with Rudolf Jaenisch, and postdoctoral work as an EMBO Fellow with Azim Surani in Cambridge UK. He was a Fellow of the Lister Institute of Preventive Medicine, and is Head of the Laboratory of Developmental Genetics and Imprinting at the Babraham Institute in Cambridge. He headed the Programme of Developmental Genetics at the Babraham Institute, and is currently its Associate Director of Research. He has won a number of prizes and distinctions, including the Wellcome Prize of Physiology. He has served on several national and international academic boards, including the MRC Cross Board Group, and currently CRUK Programmes Committee and BBSRC Strategy Panel. He is an elected member of EMBO and a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences. He is on the executive board of The Epigenome EU Network of Excellence, and on the scientific advisory board of Epigenomics AG Berlin and Seattle. The research interests of his laboratory include mammalian epigenetics, imprinting, developmental genetics, and human genetic diseases. | Home page
